CASTOR OIL: YES OR NO?
if yes, what are the pros and cons? I am scheduled to be induced tomorrow but would like to go into labor naturally if possible and avoid the pitocin for personal reasons. Any momma's used castor oil and what was your experience? How long were you confined to the toilet and how long did it take before you started labor (if you ever did)?

No never do castor oil. It could cause baby to poo then breathe it in which isn't good. Best ways to try to self induce (which don't always work) are exercising, walking, squats, and sex.

Try doing deep squats for as long as you can stand it. That helped me.

Yea. Anytime someone says the words “castor oil” I immediately think “death trap waiting to happen” i would definitely just relax as much as possible hunn. It’s really not worth it the risks...You got this💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Also, if you look up “castor oil during pregnancy/to induce labor risks” it’ll say the same thing. Definitely don’t do it...
I just did that I was looking up efficacy beforehand. Should have looked up risks first!
I know babies that unfortunately have passed away due to people taking castor oil. That’s one of the most dangerous things you can do. Please don’t take that...not only is it dangerous to your baby but it can also make you unnecessarily uncomfortable before delivery.

It can cause the baby to poop their meconium which they can die from infection from so yeah. I personally would say definitely don’t use it

I tried it before I knew how bad it was for baby and it was disgusting, all it did for me was give me bad diarrhea and cramps! Baby was still 2 weeks late😫
