Looking for suggestions for a convertible rear facing car seat that will last a long time, and is somewhat compact.
My 6 month old is super tall and was encroaching the height limit on his infant car seat at his last appointment. I wouldn't be surprised if he will have reached it, or be very close at his appointment this coming Friday. Preparing for the future inevitability, at any rate.
We have a Maxi Cosi Pria 70 for the oldest, but it can be a pain to clean.
@flamingomom @aengs2 It would be going in a Ford Escape, a small SUV. We have in the past had issues length wise. Like when we had the Maxi Cosi rearfacing, the passenger seat had to be adjusted pretty far forward. Trying to avoid that mostly. Width shouldn't be an issue. No plans for any more kiddos back there. Is the Chicco like that at all?
We had the Chicco in a tiny Mazda 3 sedan. It’s one of the most compact seats out there. The “zip” component allows you to literally unzip the car seat cover right off and wash it.

I have the Chicco Nextfit iX Zip. The zip functionality is awesome because it comes off very easily to wash. I’m just not sure it’s what you’re looking for since it’s not too compact. I have it in my Mazda3 though and it’s a pretty small car. I am 6’0” tall.
I have the nextfit zip in a dodge avenger and love it. So does my little. My so has the graco 4ever and it is great also. He has a pickup so has limited room and it still fits good.
