Good morning everyone! I haven’t been in here in awhile but I need help and ideas! Family members don’t have guidance for me.

My daughter is a year old since August and knows how to communicate through pointing at things. She also says “that” and “this” correctly. But what we would like her to do is start saying please, thank you, and sorry. I’m even trying to show her the sign language of it but she wants nothing to do with and just throws a fit.

It’s very frustrating please help!

I agree with continuing sign language. It’s a hard process but you just gotta stick with it. My son doesn’t know many words in sign language. But he knows please thank you and more. The best thing to do is when you talk to her use the signs as you do it so she can put together the signs with the meaning.

We taught our daughter manners just by using them around her. If I want her to get something or do something, I say please and thank you. I apologize to her if need be too.

Keep using sign language as youre talking and demonstrating these queues. They pick up quickly, out of nowhere shell start using the signs. You have to be patient, understand they know literally nothing. They learn it all from your visual and verbal queues. Google baby sign language and they give you quick guides, we chose to introduce 1-2 new words/signs a week and tried to continue using all as we interacted with baby.
