When does your doctor start doing cervical checks for you?
@mommyjay0579, yes the appointments have been weekly since 35 weeks for me. The cervix checks are so painful though, I wish I had turned down the first few because I wasn’t dilated at all so they were pretty useless.
I do remember them being uncomfortable. I go when I'm 34+5 so Wednesday so they should be going to weekly after that appt.
They started checking me at 36 weeks and I allowed them because I was high risk. I had her 38+6 due to placenta no longer working
@mommyjay0579, yes she was born healthy and perfect at 6lbs 18 1/2 inches long she’s now 9lbs and 20 1/2 inches but I think she’s more than 20 because she’s growing out of her newborn clothes
@kyra.mcdonald9 awe congratulations and I'm happy to hear she is healthy ❤️❤️
I’ve been getting them every week since 2 weeks ago 😐 I didn’t know they’re not necessary or that I was allowed to turn it down. It’s like the only thing they do at my appointments now other than tracking my weight and blood pressure.
With my son they started checking at 35 weeks because I was cramping a lot. I didn’t know at the time that I could deny it. This time I won’t accept any cervical checks until I’m in labor.
@mommyjay0579, I trust my body and I don’t enjoy strangers putting their hands inside me when it’s not necessary. Even in labor I don’t want to be checked more than a couple times.
You would think with this being my fourth I would remember but I do not I just know it was toward the end.
I don’t see the purpose of getting checked. I don’t wanna bash the ladies that do, but for me it’s useless. I feel like you’re either in labor or you’re not and how dilated you were two weeks prior means nothing.
36 weeks when I had my strep test.
