Hey moms I am currently on bed rest for a whole month now and my dr is giving me problem with giving me my FMLA paper work to bring to my job I am due January 31 and my job still haven’t receive my FMLA now I should be returning back to work January 18 but my husband wants me to stay home and continue my bead rest but the thing is my dr is saying ur due date is Jan 31 so if we start ur maternity leave now u won’t have enough time to spend with the baby that they(my dr)only give 6-8 weeks with the baby but with my FMLA I am suppose to get 12 weeks can someone help me and tell me my rights??? Please

Is there any way you can talk to hr on the phone? (At your work place not the Dr) and ask how they do it? I didn't have to get any paperwork for FMLA when I was working from my Dr. That was something hr did. Hopefully someone can give you some pointers.

Fmla is not maternity leave. It should cover the amount of time you were on bed rest so you don’t have to use maternity leave for that time. If you go back to work then have the baby. That’s when maternity leave starts which is typically 6 weeks. You should cal your Hr rep so they can tell you exactly what the company’s policy is and what they need from your doctor.
