Has anyone ever had to have an EGD done before? It is a scope down the throat. I'm getting one Tuesday am and I'm having anxiety over it due to being intubated my freshman year and waking up and pulling a tube out.. long story. But I'm super nervous

I had one done while i was awake and it was terrible! Make sure they put you to sleep for it.

@hallmarkmovieaddict I agree 100%. I told him I wanted to be out completely. And I'll for sure be saying it again Tuesday. Praying it isn't that bad and I'm fully sedated.

As long as they do their job and put you to sleep it should go smoothly. Good luck to you!

I was supposed to have one done to take images of my gallbladder but I'm not getting it... It makes me too uncomfortable to think about and I'm afraid of being put to sleep.

They have to biopsy my intestine so I have to get it. I've been through much worse I'm just hoping I'm very out of it.

@hallmarkmovieaddict they totally knocked me out because I was panicking. And I basically have a deep erosion in my stomach. I have to take meds for it. Then possibly get another one done in 3 months to make sure it isn't getting worse but that is what causes all my problems atm.
