Anyone else lose weight, even into the second trimester? Treatment for my thyroid disease began right before I got pregnant and was the reason I had gained a lot of my weight before I knew I had it. I figure now it’s being treated, my body is going to it’s more ‘natural weight’. But my OB thinks I have an eating or vomiting issue and I’m lying about it. 😑
My OB is actually the one who discovered my thyroid disease after a miscarriage and is the one who manages it as well. I’ve tried explaining to her how thin I was before I had it and idk if she forgets or still just doesn’t believe me. I was 70 pounds lighter before and 60-55 lighter is my more “normal natural” weight. But my OB is very new for me, only about two months before this pregnancy
@katieblakebyron, ah well then that is rough. My dad is a primary care physician and works with his patients’ other doctors when needed, so that’s why I thought to suggest it. Good luck dealing with her and just keeping doing what you need to in order to stay healthy.
And I’m sure someone will tell me to “quit complaining” but it’s because of my disease and treatment and wondering if anyone’s dealt w the same
@alwayssavvy, @breezy81516, I eat a full meal at least twice a day and have been snacking a lot this week. And I only got sick maybe four times in my first trimester. It’s just extremely aggravating that she keeps arguing with me about it and acts like she’s accusing me of being a liar about not eating lmao.
As long as you know your eating & the baby is healthy don't worry about it. Doctors think they know everything when they honestly dont.
I wonder if you could get a letter from your doctor treating you thyroid disease backing you up? Get that drs opinion on your weight changes and also for him to educate your OB on your medical history and treatment.
