So my son is 4 months he’ll be 5 months on the 19th and people keep telling me it’s not normal that he isn’t rolling from belly to back yet. Should I be worried? He was born when I was 29 weeks so I figured when he’s about 6 months he would start but now I’m worried because everyone’s bringing it to my attention.
Has the pediatrician told you to go by the adjusted age for milestones? You would go by his actual 40 week due date.
Yes she has and I have been but everyone who comes to see him and family as well keeps telling me that he should be rolling already he’s 18lbs so they say he’s big enough for a 4 month old so he should be doing everything normally
There are not set milestones when it comes to babies growth. Even doctors sometimes rush babies to develop so fast that they stress parents out. If your baby is healthy and there is no health concerns dismiss what people tell you. Let your child grow in his own pace.
My son didn't speak 50 words at 3 years and doctors even told me he needed speech therapy. I refused. He is now 10 and been 3 years straight in spelling bee contest and won. Believe in your baby and your mommy intuition. You are doing your best!🙂
I’ve been trying to not stress because I know he’ll grow at his own pace he’s been doing great so far when it’s tummy time he lifts his head nice and tall he kicks a lot and everything so I didn’t worry until this week since we’re moving a lot of family has been coming to see us and everyone’s telling me he should be rolling over but I know he’s doing great
@bcharron12 Then trust that. If you see he is doing great don't pay any mind to what family has to say.🙂
I wouldn’t worry at all, he was a premie and like other mamas said all babies are different. & early babies move at their own pace. My son was born at the end of 36 weeks and took him a little longer to do certain things
My son was born bang on 40 weeks and didn’t roll over until he was 7 months. Every baby is different and a preemie baby may be different again. Don’t worry yourself, I’m sure he’s doing just fine.
All babies develop at different rates. There is no set schedule for development programmed into every child. They will reach their milestones when they are ready. My 5m old is rolling from back to belly and belly to back but my toddler didn't start until 6m.
People don't understand preemie life unless they've lived it. Don't listen to them
