How do you feel about taking your children to the shooting range with you? Do you feel if there is a certain age maybe your child should be? I took my son with me. He did not shoot. He is only 6 and he stayed in the booth. I took some photos of him and was going to post on my FB ( you can see range in the background ). Then I decided not too. I thought maybe people would get mad about it. Again he just sat in booth and watched his dad and I. I think you need to be a certain height for a child to shoot anyways.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it.
Some may argue you're introducing violence into the child's life. But I beg to differ. Just like archery, and hunting, and even drawing, it's a hobby. And if you explain to them that they can understand it's not like the kid is gonna grow up and become a mass shooter. I personally love guns and going shooting and I want my kid to be familiar with it too

I think its a problem that our society interprets gun education and use as violence. Youre in a controlled area. Best place to learn. My dad taught me at 5 years old how to properly handle firearms and their use. Ill let my son target shoot at 6. He could fire a rifle resting on one of those perches at the range. If people get mad, tell them its attitudes like theirs that confuses our children on the formal use and respect of firearms.
