Breastfeeding information and tips This is a post I've made to help women who are thinking of breastfeeding, or are breastfeeding and may have some questions about breastfeeding. It is also aimed to help women who may be experiencing problems with breastfeeding and may need to know how to deal with these problems because most breastfeeding problems can be sorted.
#mombassadorchat Happy World Breastfeeding Week! Please share your breastfeeding stories and tips! Hi everyone! @kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom here. For today's chat we're going to talk about breastfeeding and pumping in honor of World Breastfeeding Week! Both can seem complicated or stressful, but remember you have lots of support here! With my first son I had things going against us for breastfeeding. I wish I knew back when he was younger that we could have still tried! With my second son I was determined to breastfeed, and even though he was born 11 weeks early I wasn't going to let that stop us from trying to breastfeed! For 7 weeks I pumped every 2 1/2-3 hours on the dot to establish and maintain my milk supply. When your little one is born early they usually need time to master sucking, swallowing, and breathing so I wasn't able to nurse right away. When my son was 33 weeks gestational (so 4 weeks old) we were finally able to latch on, and he did great! By 36 weeks gestational we had successfully started breastfeeding, and today marks 21 months of actual at-breast breastfeeding for us! I am passionate in trying to help moms-to-be and moms with breastfeeding and/or pumping, but I support moms who choose not to or for other reasons cannot breastfeed. Remember, I mentioned I didn't breastfeed my first son. I understand both sides. Breastfeeding isn't always easy, but I believe it's at least worth trying! Please help me celebrate World Breastfeeding Week by sharing your tips, questions, concerns, product recommendations, or anything else breastfeeding and pumping related! If you have a question for @kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom, please tag her in the comments below! Or share your advice and feeding stories.
I know age is usually a thing girls don't talk about for some reason but what are your ages I just feel so alone being 18.
Just for fun. I did this when I was pregnant with my son and it was right ☺ it says I will have a girl this time.Fingers crossed it is true lol I found my Chinese age online. Just googled how to find my Chinese age and there are websites that calculate it for you. Did anyone else get the right results?
I think this will be my LAST baby. My boyfriend is up there in age 🤷🏽 ♀

I really don’t have an opinion. Whatever works best for mom and baby is cool with me. 😊

I’m just curious because I am currently breastfeeding and I don’t know what age I want to stop breastfeeding at and I’ve talk to some mother about it but I feel like the ages they stop at are just way to old for me I feel like a Year is long enough. But some mothers do it way past that.. No judgement at all!

I hear ya. If a year works best for you, then absolutely make that your goal!

I personally do not think there is a right age to stop. I think it is whatever is best for you, your family and baby. I tried, even saw the lactation consultant weeekly for like over a month. For baby and i, it just didnt work out due to medical reasons. My daughter ended up being completely formula fed by 8 weeks. If all goes well for our next little one. I will try breastfeeding again hopefully we wont run into the same issues as my daughter but as soon as i go to work i will stop. It will just make it easier for whomever is watching my kids. As well as for me being at back work.

When you and your baby are ready. Not my boobs, not my problem. They call baby teeth milk teeth for a reason. It was normal to breast feed until the milk teeth fall out.

I think it’s best to let your baby self wean within reason. Around age 2 they shouldn’t be nursing as much, maybe 2x a day is great, but really it’s up to Mom and baby.
Before I had kids I always thought it was weird to breastfeed past one year but then once I had a baby I couldn’t imagine stopping at one year. They’re still babies at 12 months and it’s not like they suddenly don’t need breast milk anymore. Your milk changes with the age of your baby. I let her self wean and she was totally done by 2.5 which was perfect timing for us. I plan to let my son do the same. It’s such a short time in your child’s whole life, enjoy it while it lasts!
