My son didn’t start to really talk until he was about 2.5. As long as you can tell he understands you, I wouldn’t be too worried.

My pediatrician said boys are slower than girls. He wont even recommended speech therapy until 2 and a half. My 2 year old doesn't really talk either, but he understands everything we tell him or ask him. I would talk to your doctor if you are concerned.
