Even though I’m the stay at home parent and I feel like I need a break from my job, house and life, so does my husband. He gets that the house is my job, so I get a break every 6-8 weeks. I’ll go spend a weekend with a friend, check into a hotel and just crash, once I ran off to Vegas for 36 hours. Ever since we got the house, he spends as much time as possible helping me make our new house a home and giving me a break. He works 45-50 hours a week and it’s a physical job. I thought it was his turn to take a break.

I already had a room booked for the weekend with a view of the Golden Gate. I texted our massage therapist and booked him an appointment. I packed a small bag with clothes and liquor for him and stashed it under my maxi dresses in the closet. It was supposed to be a surprise, but he looked so worn down that I went ahead and told him. Ladies when I say this man lit up, he was beaming! He busted his ass with me all day yesterday getting the garage in order.

He just called during a quick break and said, “thank you for giving me your weekend. You have no idea how much it’s keeping me motivated. Knowing that at the end of my work week I’ll get a real opportunity to relax for a couple of days motivates me to bust my ass at home and work this week.”

I’m now the one lit up and beaming 😁😍
