Just feeling a little sad lately I'm a SAHM and a good chunk of the time it's just me and my son in the house. My husband works and he has the opportunity to get enough sleep, work and do family time but he cuts his sleep to play video games until late and night and then goes to work in the morning. Then when he gets back he goes to sleep so while he cuts his sleep for games he now cuts his family time for sleep making his days work, sleep and games but hardly spends time with us and when he does have his days off he puts on things he likes to watch and zones out or takes naps in between. I just feel like time with us is not a priority maybe it's the hormones but it just makes me feel really lonely like when he's here he isn't here and doesnt pay attention to anything I have to say.

I’m in the same boat sorta. My husband does heating and air, so he’s on call every other week. So that job is constantly taking him out of the home when he isn’t at work full time. Then as a side job he plows, so all winter if it full time job isn’t taking him out of the house, his side job is. So he’s always tired and never really here. I cry about it all the time!!

@-boytribe yes! 100% he plays games with some friends almost every night and he says its the way he stays happy and sane. That's nice but what about me? I have to keep an eye on and try to feed and play with/entertain a toddler that's definitely in his terrible two's and super picky with food even more than usual. It's stressful especially emotionally because I don't get time to just do something I really enjoy if I tried I have a kid all over me. But because I stay home it's "not hard". I'm at the point of an emotional breakdown but I know he doesn't care.

cry in front of him! Sometimes I have to get my husbands attention and for him to see how much I’m really hurting

@-boytribe luckily I went into the room to grab my sons creature power suit (he loves wild kratts) and he was awake and all I did was crawl into bed and into my pillow and I guess he got the hint and went out into the living room with our son. Now I'm just crying into my pillow its probably a mixture of things from him to the fact we moved up toward his family and I have no one who understands me. No friends. We live in a small town with hardly anything so if I wanted to go to one of my happy place stores its like a 40 minute drive I just feel like I have nothing. I know I habe my son and baby on the way I love more than anything in the world but just feel like I'm not me. I'm sorry for the big rant but I just feel like no matter how many times I talk to him about it he just doesn't get it.

I was a SAHM for about 2 years and I felt the same way and could not bring up that subject enough to him until it really got to me and caused us to argue so much. It’s tough being a SAHM not everyone values those who are. Try talking to him about it or. Try going out on dates and amusement parks with just you and your little one. Maybe that will open his eyes to see how much he’s missing out on.
