Okay well I’m like week number 4 into Postpartum Recovery.. I delivered vaginally and didn’t tear or anything buuut I feel like I bled forever after.
Days I would wear a pad and not have any blood but the day I decide not to wear one I have an accident😑
Christmas Day.. Instead of wearing pjs and being around the house I decided to put on some clothes and figured I’ve gained weight and outgrown most of my jeans so I squeezed into a pair and put on a pad for just in case and today I regret it..
Midweek I started to get this like itch downstairs and I thought it was because I shaved 😒 but then one day when I used the restroom.. I start to smell this odor and I am sooo not used to that so it alarmed me.
I looked it up and it’s said that during postpartum woman usually will set up an like yeast infection.. and I think I have 🙄 I’ve been too embarrassed to call Eventhough it’s “normal” plus taking care of 2 kids now it’s been hard to even catch a break !!
Is it okay to just use a monistat kit?? 😩😩
or do I have to go to the doctor??

@laniejay is right. I would have said just use monistat or an offbrand but since you are only 3 weeks pp I'd call a doctor.

It’s normal for your lady area to smell and itch after giving birth especially if you ripped because your body is trying to clean its self and your lady area is trying to heal, I smelled awful down there for a long time my first two periods after postpartum bleeding smelled horrible too, my sister done the same thing after having her son and asked my mamaw who is a nurse about it and said it was normal because it’s your body trying to clean out. I ripped in 3 places down there and was itchy from healing, and I stayed sore for a long time down there but eventually it got better my doctor told me just to wash myself gently everyday, and no baths just showers, and no using soap or other cleaning stuff inside of your lady area cause it can cause infection.

@jaidensmommy, and yes don’t take baths just take showers because baths will cause you to get infections.

yes I have this but I left my bottle at the hospital 😩😩 I had a bottle I didn’t use a home and I did use it. I think I should have kept using everything once I left the hospital but I didn’t

@jaidensmommy, Yes it’s best to just continue to use everything they give you at the hospital because it really helps with recovery and I would of kept those bottles but you can order them off amazon for real cheap. Also when you shower wash yourself with a white wash cloth because colored wash clothes can be harmful because of all the dye in it and I’d also buy you some no dye dove unscented soap because that’ll help keep you clean down there but I wouldn’t wash inside at all just on the outside to keep all the hair down there cleaned because it’s not safe to shave down there either because of all the bacteria that can get inside you and cause infection, I waited until after my 6 week postpartum appointment to shave down there because my doctor told me that I could go back doing my regular routine so I would wait until your doctor giver you the clear at your postpartum appointment to do any shaving.

I WOULD say Monistat would be fine except that you're SO recently post partum. I'd check with your doc before putting ANYTHING up there or doing any remedies yourself.

Could be a number of things including infection so you need to go get checked. Since you’re so early PP, they would likely prescribe a pill for your yeast infection instead of something inserted.
