What are your personal opinions about the FLU SHOT ?? I’ve heard so many things. And have read a lot online. Just looking for other moms point of views on this!
I haven't gotten a shot since 2013 when I was pregnant. And I won't until I'm older. My belief is at a young age and at old age or when you're pregnant I'd get it because of a weakened immune system. But outside of that, I'm not.
I had to get mine bc i work in the health care industry. I plan on my 8 yr old getting one only bc he has gotten the flu twice in the last 3 years and anything i can do to lower the risk, seems like a good ideq.
Kid are dying from not getting it not from getting it.. the flu shot has improved a ton over the years and the flu itself is getting worse killing people and the fact that people themself are just discussing people nowadays its definitely worth it I didn't get one till I became prego but got it every year since them
We will be first in line next year. I am still getting over Influenza A. Ruined Christmas and now I have a sinus infection. I’ve been flat on my back for more than a week feeling awful. We got it last year on Christmas as well! 💉
After watching my girlfriends infant son almost die of the flu two years ago bc she refused to vaccinate her family against it, Ive gotten it every year and so has every member in my family. It’s not just about us getting sick, we can carry it home even if we’re not sick.
I've only had 1 flu shot and that was this year. Ive never had the flu. But I've also never has a winter baby so I figured maybe it would be best. I've had a effing cold since the darn day after i got the shot... i got the stupid thing BEFORE Thanksgiving. It's almost effing Janurary. Not too thrilled about that.
I never get it I don’t get sick very easily but I did have my daughter get hers since it’s her first year and the flu was so bad last year. She will probably get it until age 5 then we will see
Im getting it in the new year since im going back to work in healthcare but i got my son his before Christmas since its the worst time of year. Yes he got a cold since it suppresses the immune system for about 2 weeks while introducing the flu. I will get probably get a cold like i always due but id rather a cold then the flu.
I’ve never gotten the flu shot (ive also never had the flu) but my kids & husband gets it. They don’t have reactions to it but I feel I would have a reaction to it cause my body is so sensitive. My doctors were trying to talk me into getting it cause I’m pregnant.
I never get it, and I’ve never gotten the flu. I do have my daughter get it each year because she’s in daycare and some defense is better than no defense. Her dad gets it because his job requires it.
I got the flu one year as a working adult around Halloween and it was brutal! The school I had been visiting just prior had 1/2 their students absent when I visited, and then closed for the entire next week due to illness. I believe I caught the flu while visiting there. True influenza is nothing to mess with!
Ever since then, I have gotten my flu shot each year and have never had the flu since. To me, it’s a no-brainer: minimize my chances of contracting the flu, and reduce severity if I did get a different strain. Influenza can kill, so I’m going to do what I can to decrease risk for me and my family.
I’m 100% for it. I’m not only trying to protect myself from the nasty germs but also protect anyone I come in contact with. I don’t want to accidentally spread germs to someone who can’t get vaccinated for medical / health reasons.
@gigi.marquez1991 I end up getting really sick afterwards, I don't like feeling like a genni (sp) pig bc they don't know what strains are coming, but say it's to prevent it.
