Oh jeez. Hubby wants to buy an old Pontiac fiero that "only needs the alternator" the people told him he has to get it this weekend or they will scrap it. So now he wants to get this huge loan to buy the car, pay off our current loan, and pay off some rent, THEN pay that loan with his tax return. I can't convince him not to. He just gets mad. So whatever I guess.
UPDATE: Hes mad but I ended up saying no.

Oh girl, I'm with you.... this sounds like a future financial NIGHTMARE! Gettin loans to pay off loans and counting on the worlds OLDEST yet GREATEST plan..."I'll pay ya back with my tax return". I don't think it's a good idea girl.

People don't scrap cars that only need alternators. Not to mention, if they're just going to scrap it... why are they still asking for an amount that you'd need a loan for? Wait for them to scrap it and then buy it from the junkyard then. And only if you have cash in hand. If not, he cant afford a toy.

The car is only 400. For some reason he wants to get like 3600 loan. To pay off our 700 dollar loan and some of rent, which was our plan when he got his tax return. I suggested he get a smaller loan. Idk why he won't. I hope he gets denied at the bank. That's my last hope.

@familyof3.andcounting you're married which means his debt is your debt, his return is your return, his money and finances are yours. You make big decisions together. If he's willing to get loans without you both in agreement, you have bigger problems than a car.

That's true. I just sent him a long ass message about how we are not going to get it. That I am his wife and don't want that financial stress. Blah blah blah. So I will put my foot down. Because I have really started to realize how stupid it sounds. I just hope it doesn't turn into a huge argument.
