I failed to communicate properly. With arrangements with my family to watch my kids. Its my fault. I had other things on my mind. I informed my boss I can't work today cause I have not sitter! The truth! I feel good that I told the truth! Their dad telling me I am stupid and should have lied. What good has lying every really done?

Absolutely not. I can tell when employees are not truthful. For those that do it often, I question every time they are off. Don’t be that employee. Your boss is a real person and will understand shit happens! You did the right thing!
Thanks. Never really called out before. Last time I did was 4 years ago. My mgr denied my request to have off for my baby shower. My first child.

Their dad usually is off every Wed. Due to the holiday he had to work. I lacked communication about today. Was more worried on my car n how I can get them back and forth and myself.
Why can't their father be with them while you work? I work in the day and my son's father is with him until I get home and then he works in the evening. Its not anyone else's job
