This is NOT to put down ppl who get an epidural but from someone whose had one and whose had a 100% unmedicated home birth...let me tell you.....the recovery is SO much better & faster going natural. I didn't tear at all and after she came out I was good to go lol. Idk I just didn't like how my back was hurting for so long after the epidural & the feeling when it was wearing off 😂 everyone's pain tolerance is diff so I know some ppl HAVE to get it or due to medical reasons but if you don't i would highly suggest trying to go natural 😊
But I did have pitocin. I was damn near dead 😂😭
@kingstons_mommaaa 😂😂 bye gotta go feed and change my baby and turn my heater on, issa lil chilly tonight
I'm going to try and go natural, I got an epidural all three of my pregnancies, but the last two after I went into the recovery room I was ready to go. Especially my last pregnancy, after I got that epidural I went from a 4 to a 10 in a matter of minutes and the epidural didn't seem to kick in because I felt everything. So this time I'm like imma do it, imma try lol
Lol that's all you can do is try. If not, that is okay at least u have it a go. At the end of your pregnancy walk stairs two at a time alot and take the Primrose pills to help soften the cervix. I think those helped me have a smooth fast tearfree labor.
I got the epidural both times and it didn’t work. I agree with you though! Next time around I’m definitely just gonna avoid the epidural all around since I already delivered without it twice. I hate that I even got it because my back still hurts every now and then especially during the colder seasons.
Yeah the cold months was a killer on my back! Omg it didn't work either time?? It didn't work for my cousin either so she was pissed she had to get poked with that huge needle for nothing lol
First 2 I had one because I was scared! Did not tear with all three but my last I fell asleep in labor not pain meds woke up and she was practically climbing out herself after being induced lol
yeah I was scared with my first and didn't know how to tolerate the pain so I got the epidural real quick lol. Omg lmao 😂😂😂😂
I wish I was able to even have vaginal births. But I pushed for 3 hours with my 1st. Luckily I had the epidural because I was rushed in for an emergency c section and without having the epidural I would have been completely put out and wouldn’t have seen him right after he was born.
Oh no, I'm glad you got to see him right after your c-section. Are you able to try for a vbac in the future?
@doubleksmommy, no I’ve had 3 c sections and will have my 4th in July. They told me my pelvis is too narrow for birthing babies.
I had a great experience even though I got the epidural. After being on pitocin for hours and not dilating past 5 cm, I gave in. I had been having contractions for 12 hours and hadn’t eaten or slept so it was wonderful to be able to sleep for a couple hours before I was ready to push. It only took 3 pushes and she was out and I was up and about later that day. I’m happy I never got any back pain.
Word vomit but I don’t want any first time moms to get scared of getting it. It isn’t always bad.
Oh yes def works wonders for ALOT of people, esp those that stop dilating. Being in labor forever is no fun. I'm glad u didn't get the back pain...i think that was the worse for me. First time moms...plz dont be scared to get it or not.
Okay my 1st I got the epidural worse thing I ever done it took me longer to recover I was swollen for almost 3 months after birth & with my daughter was no epidural best feeling ever after I had her such a relief I was really happy with how my body turned out the swelling was not as bad as with my son I recover a lot faster
Yesss exactly! Right after I had her the relief instantly set in and that was that. Didn't have to wait til the epi wore off or anything lol
@doubleksmommy, omggg yess!!!! After I got the epidural my back got fffff up & I didn’t like the feeling of it I was at the hospital for almost a week after birth like with my daughter they only kept me 1 & half lol I was ready to show the world my baby girl lol
I keep hearing everyonr talk about back pain after an epidural and I had none. I barely had pain from the needle. The worst part was the giant sticker coming off. Really do want to go natural, I coukdn't this time; fingers crossed for next time.
