He gets mostly milk, but my ped told me to start him on solids when he was 6 months. I honestly didn’t start solids till last month. I just didn’t know how much was the right amount
What they said the milk is supposed to be the primary source of food and then anything else. At that age our pediatrician told us to give him 3 times a day baby food or solid food what I did was I gave him half of a jar in the morning with milk the afternoon I gave him one jar with milk and then in evening I gave him the other half of the one from the morning with milk. I always gave him milk first then 30 minutes later I gave him baby food for each feeding. It worked great for me!
I think this kind of depends on parent preference. Until age 1, formula or breast milk should be the primary source of nutrition, so for me personally, I only do an amount equivalent to one jar (I make my own food). But I know parents who do 2-3 jars. I just worry it will fill my baby too much where she won’t consume enough milk when nursing.
Every baby is different. Formula or breast milk should be his main source of nutrition until 1. Give bottle/breast first and then the baby food as he wants.
