Due to severe preeclampsia I had to have an emergency c-section. Baby girl was born at 30 weeks and 2 days. Currently she’s doing really well in the NICU and I’m home in a lot of pain. Any tips for how to deal with an incision? The burning..it feels like it’s tearing open.

Definitely take your pain meds and even though it hurts, you need to move around as much as you can (within reason) and that will help you heal faster

Keep pressure on the incision. Live in the wrap they gave you. When sneezining or coughing hold pillow to the incision. Avoid using stairs often and if you have to use it go very slow. Do not lift more than 10 pounds. Nothing heavier than your baby in carseat. Take medicine as needed, stay hydrated and take it very easy

Take your pain medication and sleep as often as you can. The pain won’t go away completely for awhile.. you just have to sleep through it at the beginning as much as you can. I went through the same thing at 30 weeks except they made me stay in the hospital for 3 more weeks postpartum.

Wishing you a speedy recovery! Congrats on the new baby!!❣️
