It has to have its own line I do believe but it hooks up to your phone so you can get texts and stuff on it.

I connect my Apple Watch to my phone through Bluetooth! No extra line, no fee, no nothing. I don’t even need a sims chip for it. I’m able to answer calls and send text messages, but I need to be within a certain distance to it. I can be anywhere in my house and it will work. I don’t leave my house without my phone anyways so there’s no point in paying for an extra line for my watch lol

@boymom123, I just bought one through Verizon because if you only do it through Bluetooth u have to be close to ur phone. If you get it’s own line it’ll be through ur same number but u can leave ur phone home and still use it.
