I’ve always left it alone and once the umbilical cord fell off I washed the area with mild soap and warm water, rinsed well then dried it.

I cleaned it with alcohol and a qtip anytime it got wet, to dry the area out. I did that for weeks ! Just out of caution πŸ™ˆ Congratulations on your beautiful baby ❀️

At 6 to 8 weeks u could start baths . Other than that hold them and wash them down real good . U can do it on your arms holding the baby and washing

We use plain water and a small gauzes here at the hospital no soaps 🧼 or ointments to put on it until the baby is a little older and only if u feel like it’s becoming chaff and irritated. Neosporn packets will do fine. Other than that plain water and keep it dry and uncovered

Just keep it dry, no washing. They have alcohol wipes if you need them
