I have one and I love it. I don’t usually put much on it unless necessary. Usually just gas once or twice a month and then pay it off on or before the due date. It’s definitely nice to have when unexpected expenses come up and payday is a week away.
Go to you banking institute, tell them you would like to apply for a prepaid credit card to help build your credit. You'll need at least $300 to do this. The interest rate will be high but you're basically taking a loan from yourself each time you use the card. Use it only for fuel or food each month and pay it off completely each month. Never use it for more than the cash you have on hand for the purchases you are making.
And you'll be building your credit up. I have a credit score of over 820. Perfect score is 850. It takes time but you can do it. Credit cards are a great way of building credit but can also be an easy way of getting oneself in financial trouble. Be careful! But a secured credit card is the way to start if you already have bad credit. Best wishes!!!

Only good if you have no credit or bad credit. If you have a high credit score you can do MUCH better.
