My son is a little over a year old & still will not sleep through the night 😒 my daughter wasn’t like this .. in a few months I plan on having them both share a room BUT not if he doesn’t start sleeping through the night smh idk what to do! His doctor is telling me to let him cry but I can’t. And plus his crib is in our room & my husband gets up early for work sooo there’s no letting him cry it out. I have no idea what else I can do to get this kid to sleep. He usually goes to bed around 9pm & wakes up every few hours after that & wants milk.. I can’t keep giving him milk! HEEEEEELLLLP

You need to sleep train him, when he wants milk don't give it to him. Compromise with him, get a book and read it while you rock him back to sleep. He most likely just wants the attention and comfort at night, not necessarily milk. Once you start rocking him back to sleep he'll get used to not having the milk and he won't wake for it anymore, he'll realize he'll be just fine without it.

Sleeping through the night is a developmental and neurological milestone that is perfectly normal not to reach until 5 years old. Some do it sooner, others don't. My youngest still doesnt. I stopped feeding him at night after 15 months. Replace it with water. I am anti cry it out as well, it'll happen mama!

Our son’s doctor said that once a baby reaches 6 months of age you no longer have to offer them milk in the middle of the night. We were told that if he woke up, just to comfort him while he was in his crib and not to pick him up. It’s likely just a comfort thing for him at this point. If you want him to sleep through the night you may just have to put the work in. If you continue what you’ve been doing, then so will he because he continues to get the result he desires. Good luck!

Same here 😢 I've tried everything except CIO and I've finally embraced bedsharing because that's the only way my baby and I get a full night's sleep. I spent an entire month putting him down in his crib for naps and for the night and I was waking up multiple times to soothe him or feed him back to sleep. I was in a terrible shape both physically and mentally. Do what makes your life easier! And when you feel rested and ready try to put him down in his crib again. That's the only advice I can give.

My Son Was Just Like This He's Two . And He Literally Juuust Stopped Only Because I Wasn't Getting Up To Give Him Milk Anymore. I Let Him Cry It Out . An My Daughter Stopped About a month ago an She's One. Girls Are a little More Easier That Way. Except I Can't Get Her Off Her binky ☹️ .

It was hard getting my daughter off her bobo. But I stopped giving in every time she cried for it, it took about 2 weeks & she eventually forgot about it!

I would put him to sleep in your daughters room and have her sleep in your room until he’s sleep trained. My daughter quickly learned to self soothe when I stopped coming in to hold her or give her a bottle. I just checked the baby monitor and made sure she was safe and eventually she started sleeping through the night.

The cry it out method does not work for my daughter. We tried it twice with zero success, it actually made us more miserable and the stress it caused on her mental state worried me.

The only thing that worked for us was to have her in a playpen beside our bed, she just couldn't handle being alone but our bed wasn't big enough for bed sharing properly.

She had two major sleep regressions at around 1 and just after she turned 2 (right before my son was born) we put her back in the playpen beside us until she was able to go to sleep without freaking out and then transitioned her back into her own bed. It took about 3 weeks but now she's in her own bed and my husband will go comfort her the nights she wakes up and feels scared.

I think she's prone to having nightmares which makes it hard for her to fall asleep and wakes her up during the night.

Also we replaced milk with a spill proof cup of water that she could bring with her to bed.

Hopefully some of these suggestions help!

My oldest was like this until 18 months when I stopped giving him milk. He started getting water and he was pissed but after about 3 days he stopped waking up.
