Advice would be great: I had my dear old (and older) friend at my dentist today say " why would anyone bring a baby into the world the way things are?" when I had to tell them I was pregnant today. Is this what I have to look forward to the next 8months? How do you deal with people who are so negative about having children? I am so happy but I'm naturally nervous and I get that kids are no walk in the park, I'm a frggin teacher, but that comment really upset me...

Ive learned to just stay to myself, and avoid people who just have a negative outlook on things anyways. Cant bring that kind of negativity in my life. & especially at a time when I really dont need to hear it.

Anyone who thinks the way things are today is any worse than the way things have always been for the history of mankind is just ignorant. When I got pregnant my grandmother told me she hopes this is my last because of “the way the world is going” I was like uh... it’ll turn around when your ass croaks I’m sure! Lmao okay not really but people just don’t think before speaking sometimes

She was talking about like environment and lack of resources or some BS...it was like she all of a sudden became an ecologist and not a dental hygienist🙄

@alourdes1, OMG! Yeah ummm I’d smile and nod and be like ok homie....Many of our grandparents were born into a world where they only had potato water in their bottles (like mine in Europe). My parents moved to Canada to provide us a better life and I’m proud to have children born in this day and age.
