Why is choosing a baby name so difficult? I work with children so make a connection with lots of names! I can’t think of one name that I like and that my husband likes. He has one name that I don’t feel anything about. How did people decide on their children’s names? We are having a boy btw

@mrscg oh no, I also loved the name Elijah, Preston and Isaac but he didn't like any of those

Not easily 😂 We stopped talking about names for months because we couldn't agree. He hated all the names I liked and he couldn't really think of any! Half way through I decided I liked Morgan and started saying it now & then. We still didn't name him until he was born though. I ended up saying sod it, I pushed him out, I'm choosing 😂😂 (I also work with children so found it difficult not associating every name with a child I'd looked after lol).

@mrscg I let him choose 2nd time around as I couldn't think of another name I was set on. So we both got to choose.

For my son Ellis it was just a name me and his dad (my ex) liked. For Lola we let Ellis choose and he named her after Charlie and Lola. For Maeve, we wanted something different and I wanted an Irish name as my family are Irish.
For this baby we’ve decided George for a boy as when we got engaged George Ezra was playing in the background and I walked down the aisle to a George Ezra song at our wedding. For a girl we’ve decided on clodagh (clo-dah) another Irish name just because we like it ☺️

That’s a lovely idea. I can’t even remember what I had for my first song at my wedding 😂🙈baby brain!

I'm 4 days over due and still don't have a name 😂😂 I connect names with people/kids I've met or know and it puts me off too, I can't find any names that I love or that me and hubby agree on 😴😂 I gave up looking and have said she won't be named untill she actually arrives and I'm in no rush to just pick a name 🙄 x

It is so difficult isn’t it 😬 I feel the same @alanna91, no rush and don’t want to give him a name that I will later regret! The question is...do I go a long with the name that my husband has called him all throughout my pregnancy?

No dont go along with a name unless you actually like it 👌 like you say you don't want to regret it which is why I'm in no rush to pick a name, even if it means trying out a few before I get the right one and register her then so be it....my fear is to pick a name and not like it in a few months/years... my neighbour has a 6 year old that she just settled on a name and said that she isn't even sure if she likes the name to this day 🙈😂 ... I still love my son's name so I want to find a name I'll love this time too x

We wrote a list of names that I liked and names that he liked and we both liked the name Riley 😊
Or some people leave it until baby is born because sometimes thet have their heart set on a name then when their baby is born they completely change their minds 😊 xx

Oh my god I completely understand this. I work in child care too and everything we liked there was a reason why we couldn't. We were going to call Luke Joshua from 24 weeks to 36 weeks and then we thought there may be a different options then we ended up with 3 Joshua Luke and Elliott and then we settled on Luke when we saw him xxx
