Was trying to read side effects of prednisone because I just got the worst bloody nose ever when I went to blow my nose (soaked through 10 tissues in under 2 minutes). All I keep seeing is how you shouldn't take it when pregnant. Then why would the urgent care doctor prescribe it to me 😭

Prednisone has been used for pregnant women for a long time. They'll even prescribe to help develop the babies lungs later in pregnancy if need be. All of my doctors said it's safe. I think most of the time google says don't take things like that is because there just isn't enough information available to prove yes it's definitely safe. Google would be shut down!

I've been on Prednisone alot through out all my pregnancies..it's completely harmless to pregnant women... I definitely wouldn't take it if I knew it wasn't safe. Maybe you should just reach out to your regular PCP and ask them what's going on. I'm actually on it now myself and have been taking it since I was a youngin...Google isn't our friend while pregnant lol

@ejwsmomma120215 no , it doesn't cause blood to thin..lol I was on blood thinner shots along with Prednisone bc I had a blood clot...the bloody nose could just be from pregnancy itself, that's very common ! Everything says to consult a Dr when pregnant...they wouldn't have put you on it while pregnant if it was an issue. I completely understand where your are coming from though!! What are you on it for ?

@mamakiki3 I have a lot of fluid behind my ear drums from all of the viruses going around right now. Doctor didn't want the bacteria in the fluid to cause any form of infection

well I hope you feel better soon! But if you are worried, I'd call the Dr just to get piece of mind ☺️

I wasn’t on any medication during pregnancy and I had awful bloody noses in the second trimester.
