I’ve finally set a date to start breaking my daughter from her paci... December 21st will Be day one and I’m gonna try to do it cold turkey. I have plans of hunting up all of her paci and hiding them. She’s EXTREMELY attached to it especially at bedtime and nap time but even through out the day 90% of the time she’s got one in and probably carrying another one 🤦🏻♀️ I know it’s gonna be rough especially the first few days but luckily her daddy will be off of work from that day until after New Years and with all of the Christmas activities that will be going on over the weekend and stuff it might help keep her distracted from the paci... any suggestions are definitely appreciated cause I’m really nervous to do it. Idk if I should explain to her that next week they’ll be “going bye bye” I mean she’s almost 2 so she can understand what I’m saying but idk if she’ll actually understand what I mean lol. I’m prepared for the meltdowns and crying and probably not getting much sleep for a few days but is there any way I can kind of help her through that?

If that's a source of comfort, I'd reconsider cold Turkey. I'd explain it's for sleep only and only give for naps and bed. Then slowly remove for naps, then bed.

I would start her now little by little. I am weaning off a child in my daycare center because they shove the whole paci in their mouth and I am terrified they might choke. Parents are not trying to wean but noticed he's asking for it less since I started working there. 🤷🏻♀️ They keep thanking me. 😂

I wish my people would do that! I am tying to wean and the daycare always seems to give it to him! 😑

GOODLUCCCK , ive been trying to get my daughter off hers for 4 months now ‘ i did cold turkey for 5 days an it was miserable , i knew she was hurting . so now we only use it for bed an naps ONLY . she only has 2 pacis , one in her bed & one in my purse if she looses them , shes outta luck .

I did cold turkey at a year old. I didn't give it at naps nor bedtime. He's cry for about 10 minutes at a time then fall asleep. By the 4th day he was going to bed by himself with no pacifier. We havent had one since.

When we did it we told my son that there was a baby who needed them because he was getting to be such a big boy!
