Well my son hit the point tonight where I had to let him cry it out. It's so hard to do but he won't stay asleep anymore when we transfer him to his crib after rocking him to sleep and he learned he can bite us with his new sharp teeth. I feel so sad. Any other cry it out moms who want to send me some positive words of encouragement?

Maybe hold with him a little longer he is only 8 months old he shouldn’t be crying it out until his body gets so tired he falls asleep 😪 they can’t use their words crying is how they communicate...

We have an established routine. We have methods to put him down. He has gotten to the point where he is fighting it and not getting sleep. I didn't know what else to do so I asked the pediatrician because now that he has teeth he has started biting and throwing himself. Even when we drive him, he falls asleep and wakes up the second we set him in his crib. Pediatrician said that the cry it out method is our best option at this point. So I'm going to trust her. She also said that him not sleeping is way more harmful. I hadn't wanted to start crying it out yet. I hold him all the time and never put him down. I'm to the point where I need a break and sleep to be a good mom. Sorry you don't agree, but it is okay for my child. We have a camera to watch him and we also have limits set for how long we will allow him to cry. Everything we are doing was recommended by a pediatrician.

I know you came on here looking for words of encouragement so your basically looking for someone to comfort you while your baby is crying himself to sleep.. go and hold him and give him that comfort he needs long nights don’t last long.. praying for your precious son that’s feeling alone in his crib while you come on here looking for a pat on the back 😪😭

Maybe get a second opinion .. your pediatrician can be giving you outdated information.

Being a mom is exhausting and sometimes we need a break but ask your SO for help with him not just lay him in a crib alone scared and crying .. There are so many more options then letting him cry. It’s not okay for your child unfortunately he doesn’t have a say because your “pediatrician” said it’s the best option.. i hope that child gets the attention love and comfort he needs 😪 best of luck I really hope baby boy isn’t suffering and feeling alone much longer while you look for comfort from other moms because your having a rough time .. imagine how he feels 🤦🏼♀️✌🏻

The reasoning my pediatrician gave is that Nathaniel has started crying when he gets tired. If we hold him he can't seem to let go and allow himself to sleep. He will cry for hours, rubbing his eyes, choking, throw himself, bite, scratch ect. He can't seem to let himself sleep. I have two children. Shame on you when you don't know me or my situation, to insinuate that I don't love my children. My husband does help, however things have gotten so bad that one child wakes the other and then it is all hands on deck. One with one child one with the other. Last night, I still wasn't ready to give in. I didn't want to let him cry it out because as a mom it feels wrong to not hold him when he cries. However, my pediatrician explained that some kids just can't sleep that way she told us give it 15 minutes and pay attention to his cry. We did. We heard him switch from his upset cry to his growl which he does every time he gets close to sleep in my arms and then it was quiet. It lasted ten minutes. Ten minutes of my heart breaking wanting to go to comfort my baby, wishing I was holding him in my arms. But you know what, after ten minutes he was asleep. Instead of the four hours we have put in over the last several weeks of trying to get him to sleep, walking the floors, with the lights off, trying not to wake his sister, but eventually waking her and then starting all over again. I am not the kind of mom who will ever just walk away and not comfort my children. If you knew me you would feel horrible because I'm a mom who sacrifices all of herself for her kids. Please don't judge me because you think you know what is best for every child. All kids are different and have different needs. I will always try to fill my son's needs to the best of my ability and when I can get him down without crying it out I will. But on nights like last night, where I finally gave in at one in the morning after hours of trying and after waking my 3 year old twice (who then cried so hard she threw up because she was overtired and couldn't communicate her needs for sleep so she just cried while I held her for over an hour(which isn't the first time this has happened due to this situation. One more reason I made a Dr appt for sleep issues) I finally tried what my pediatrician said and it worked. I don't plan to just stick him in a room alone. I will never quit being the amazing mother I am, but if there is a point where I can no longer do it and my pediatrician says this is where you should go from here, I'm going to try it. It doesn't mean it's always going to be my go to, but you aren't here so please be a kind enough person to care enough not to accuse me of not loving my children because nothing is further from the truth then that.
