My daughter has a mild tongue tie.. every time I feed her (she does bottle) theirs a clicking…

@mommyofthree2711, I think it’s more of a problem for nursing babies. They swallow a lot of air and get really gassy. It can also cause longer nursing sessions because they get less milk out and have to work really hard which makes them even more hungry. My daughter was extremely gassy, always crying and always nursing. My son on the other hand is very mellow and hasn’t had any digestive issues. So I don’t know, maybe it wouldn’t have made a difference but I was willing to do anything for a happier baby. For bottle fed babies it might not make a big difference because babies don’t need to work at bottles, the milk just goes into their mouths.

Yeah I believe that’s why I wasn’t able to successfully bf her.. she lost weight a couple days after she was born more than what they normally should so that’s why I had switched to formula and she went straight up. I am gonna ask again though about the clicking and see what her pediatrician thinks.

yes that’s a common reason why some women are not successful with breastfeeding. It’s sad actually, because not enough doctors, nurses and LCs are educated about ties so new moms don’t know about it and they think they can’t breastfeed. If more new moms were aware of this they could get it fixed early on.

I don’t know honestly... she’s gaining weight fine and isn’t fussy... so idk?
