Any breastfeeding moms?? I have some questions.
1. The longest I’ve been able to breastfeed is 3 months, how can I make that longer this time?
2. Is it bad that I’ve only been engorged maybe three or four times?
3. How will I know when my milk supply is low?
4. Besides hydration, what can help produce more.
I don’t pump, I tried in the past and my milk would dry up right after I pumped.
Yes I know my baby is getting enough milk because he’s 8 weeks and weighs 13 pounds.
Thanks ladies.
Side lying nursing. It sounds silly but studies show women who co sleep and nurse or frequently nurse lying down tend to nurse longer
The best thing I noticed it baby to breast anytime they are hungry or fussy it tell ur body to produce as much as you need .
I’m breastfeeding I’ve noticed what helps my milk supply is oatmeal, drinking lots of water, and I use lactation cookies as well...also breastfeeding every 2-3 hours increases milk supply if you go to long without nursing or pumping your milk will decrease I hope this helps
My son is 15 months and im still breastfeeding! I was also blessed to be be able to donate my milk to my nephew in the NICU. Water, water, and more water. Oatmeal at least once a day. Mother's Milk is garbage and doesn't help (That's what my SIL used and it didn't do anything, thats why I stepped in as a donor) stay away from the pump, keep the baby always on the breast for feedings, I've only really got engorged a handful of times, wet diaper count and weight checks if you think your baby isnt getting enough. If you have any breastfeeding questions feel free to message me 😊
You could've been stressed maybe. I know I dried up at 5 and a half from streas
Not sure why you dried up in the past. The best way to a solid supply and production is nursing. You can't ever really be empty while breastfeeding. I would definitely recommend to stay off the pump still. If in the instance you arent producing enough, your baby would be making less diapers and not gaining weight. Theres some decent supplements on the market to help. Just keep nursing!
