I grew up inside a religious home but I am not religious anymore. But I just want to know... did God ever tell you or anyone to not love, want, accept, respect or disown your child for being of different than you?? Like in general!

Why would god tell you to not love your child if anyone who believe in God knows that's not something god would want

I had made a post earlier about how some parents decide to not accept, love and even disown their child because they could grow up to love the same gender or want to change change gender. With the knowledge that i have i don’t think a parent deserves a child they won’t accept or will disown.. and i just want to know what people think because being religious sounds confusing at time but all I know if that if a religion tells me I have to do what the post says that I wouldn’t want to be that religion because I prefer loving my kid than not loving them or having to abandon them because of them wanting to be different.

No, in fact He says constantly that we are called to love all people. There are people that some shouldn't or don't need to be around if it's too unhealthy but still to love them. He loves all of us despite choices and difference and we are to follow.

Yes that’s what I thought growing up but now as I get older it seems that some people don’t really go by that ..they just say they do but when it comes to gender they totally opt out.

I've noticed that, and I believe it's due to the separation and stigma being, "religion". So many have strayed from the foundation and have begun choosing bits and pieces and even twisting things so much so that it turns people off even more. We are supposed to let God show himself through us but that can't happen if they block him by doing what they are doing. There is so much hate, hypocrisy and entitlement in churches and people's hearts now.. I think some don't even realize they are doing it as it seems so many go to service for a good feeling but don't do much else outside of that.

Christian belief on that subject is to love all no matter what gay poor rich thief we are supposed to love each other regardless it is not our place to judge anyone for any reason it's god place to be the judge it is however if you fallow the Christen belief to raise your child the way god wants you to but it is not our fault if the child fales and goes another way and If they do go another way it is still our duties to love our children and just let them know.. Hey your doing wrong you was raised to be a Christian and you know the Christian belief and you know your in the wrong but it's their life and their choice we have no place to down them or judge them even as individuals not just our children but others around us making fun of some one and name calling is not something that's godly

@babybirdboss-mom, @bcsweetie, @bigsisfinallymommy, you guys are just speaking so much love into my heart right now. I just kinda got a little furious at the fact that one mom on here was commenting telling me she would never accept her child if they did go a different way in loving the same gender.. I just wanted to put it out there that if you decide to disown your own child or judge your child’s beliefs and not love them that you don’t deserve that child.. you just deserve to stay in Your ways.

That is horrible I would never disown my sweet baby girl if she choice any different path in life I would and could never stop loving her

No, God would never tell us to turn our children away. It is not our jobs to pass judgement on our children or other people just because they have made different choices and decided to live a different way then us but it is our job to decide if that person or people are healthy to be around because with some people you just shouldn’t be around them because it just causes too much conflict like for example my mother is an alcoholic and she is very abusive when she drinks so I think it’s best for myself and my kids that she not come around much because I fear of what she could do I still love my mom but I can love her from a distance because it’s safer for my family, and then there are some people who believe a different way, and it causes conflict so it’s probably best to not be around that person to save yourself from arguing with that person because that isn’t healthy either. For some parents the love just isn’t truly unconditional because if your love was unconditional you would never disown or stop loving your child, for me this is a touchy subject because some of my family would for sure disown their children for these reasons but me I could never turn my son away or the baby I’m pregnant with away because I love them with an unconditional love. No matter what path my children choose I will always love them and care for them, and help them when they’re struggling. I might not agree with everything my children do but as a mom it’s my job to love them through the good and bad choices that they make.

A lot of our churches are messed up. A lot of the people inside are no better than the ones outside. They have let religion get in the way of relationship. If you know the true heart of God and study the Bible you see the kind of people Jesus himself surrounded himself with. To bring them to him through his love. Not a lot of people would have been saved if he went around judging like our churches, preachers and congregations do. A lot of them are stuck in their ways because that’s all they’ve been taught. It’s not right or an excuse just an explanation. I grew up in the church and that’s the one place I always felt judged the hardest. It should be the opposite

God is love. He doesn't disown anyone or tell anyone to disown anyone. There's a lot of garbage bring carried out in His name that shouldn't be.
