Okay, Ladies. I need advice on how to wash my 8 month old's hair. All of a sudden this is an insanely challenging task. He flips, rolls, kicks, and tries to drowned himself in multiple ways. I've tried so many thing. In the baby tub, laying back in the big tub, with a wash cloth, with a cup, with the handheld shower head. The kid just isn't having it. Today I let my husband try and he threw himself so hard that he flipped the baby tub (luckily I grabbed him before he crashed) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!

Do you have a bouncer or something you could strap him into and scrub with a washcloth and container filled with water?

We have a bouncer but it's cloth so it would end up getting wet. It also only has a lap belt, not a five point harness so he can still evade us well.

I shower with my son and give him a toy or cup to play with while I get clean and then we sing while I scrub his body and shampoo his hair and we rinse off and make a game of it. He really likes showers lol

Have you tried letting him dump water on his own head to show him its okay! Maybe if he can do it himself he might like it better?

could you use just a brush and washcloth? I know it'll take longer but just another suggestion trying to help out. My daughter did the same until I newborn craddled her after her playtime and bath was done. I did hair seperate.

@mommy060817 I'll have to try the brush and washcloth! Yes, I have an ornament for each kid like this that I made. You can buy the clear ornaments and just take the top off them. Then put in their hospital hat and bracelet from birth. It's such a cool keepsake. Just made his for his first Christmas.

My daughter is the same. She used to love washing her hair but it literally is soooo hard now. When i lay her back i just yell yay and good girl super excitedly the whole time. Its helped some. But its still a fight.

Tuck his body under an arm like a football so he cant move and then use your other hand to lather and rinse. Ds3 STILL hates getting his hair washed.
