I was released exactly 24 hours (to the min) after my son was born

Hospital policy for me was 48 hours. I knew someone that was discharged just after 24 hours at a different hospital. Not sure if my doctor required 48 hours as well 🤔

I think it’s a minimum 24 hrs after birth for a regular no complications vaginal and 48 for a C-section

With my daughter I waited until her newborn tests came back and then left I think it was 24 hours

He was a c-section, he was born Saturday night, and we left Tuesday afternoon. I think technically if you have no complications, you can leave whenever you want. C-sections they want you to stay at least two full days to make sure everything is working right.

I had no idea what was standard with our first. We went in Saturday night and didn't get to leave until Tuesday morning. It was ridiculously long and I hated it. With my second I knew that wasn't happening again. We went in Tuesday morning at 5 am and I told them we were leaving Wednesday and we did at 5 p.m. so 36 hours. With our third they said I would need to be in the hospital 3 days because he was a c section. Went in Friday morning at 6 am and left Sunday at noon. So 2 days and 6 hours.

Hospital policy varies but mine let me leave once she was 24 hours old. She had to pass her jaundice test and be released by the hospital pediatrician. I had a vaginal delivery with no complications so they had no issues with me leaving. I was also able to leave with my last baby at 24 hours too but had to bring him back within so many days to do the newborn screening. This time they were able to do the screening at 24 hours old.

We left after 24 hours. They offered me to stay another night, but I didn’t NEED to and opted to go home. With my first we had to stay a week! Eek.

With my c section and my vaginal birth it was only 2 days. But I think after 24 hrs if everything is going a ok then you should have the option to go home

Since I'll be giving birth at home this time I won't have to think about it 😂

I was stuck there for 2 days with ds3. I had a c section. I'd like to go home sooner this time.
