Hi guys, I need a word of advice. I’m pregnant with my first baby. My mom keeps mentioning we should have a baby shower due to welcoming our newest members of the family. However, I’m not so sure if I want one because I’m afraid everyone is going to be very judgmental & start asking questions. I’m also very emotional with the hormones that I feel like this could either go one way or the other. I’ll either brake down in tears or curse someone out. But Also, I feel like I should stop being selfish & I should have a baby shower because it will help me out a lot & besides it’s for my baby not for me.
Please share your thoughts.

Your strong.! You got this. If anyone asks where the father is just tell them your the mother and father. Its none of their business.! I didn't have a baby shower and I realy regret it now. I wish I had those memories to look back on. And its your day only invite people you want to enjoy the day with and not anyone you think will judge you because its about you and baby not everyone else ans what they think

I think it would be extremely rude to ask questions like that at an event for the baby. And if they do, you know now who you don’t need in your life. Have the shower and enjoy yourself. Baby deserves to be celebrated.

It can be hard, but dont let it get to you.. A baby shower is a great way to get more of what you need for baby. If they ask just tell them its not really their business or that you arent comfortable talking about it.

Who would you be inviting that would be judgmental or intrusive? My family hosted a baby shower for me and no one even asked anything about the baby’s father. Everyone was supportive and we had a good time.

I am a single mom my daughter dad did not show up to my baby shower when people asked i said he couldn’t make it and left it at that... its hard but this is something you will regret if you dont do it... its to celebrate ypu n your baby you dont need him love... this is the start of the best relationship you’ll ever have with your baby... stay strong for you and that little one

It’s unlikely anyone would ask many questions they may simply ask if he will be attending. Just say it he won’t make it. The baby shower helps tremendously. Do it for you and the baby, you may regret it if you don’t. Don’t let him have that control over you!

Definitely have a baby shower. For all anyone else knows you chose the single mom life. We don’t need no man to help raise a child. Some women have babies from donors and be single moms. Nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about being a single mom!
