Alright mamas I need your opinion on weighted blankets I want to get one for my three year old with suspected autism and he loves my fleece throw I think it would comfort him more but their like 130 bucks 😳

Make sure it’s only 10% of his bodyweight plus 1-2 lbs. I ordered 2 5lb ones on Amazon for $40 on a lighting deal, but then I read they aren’t recommended under 40lbs and 4 yrs old. I only opened one for my 4 yr old. There’s a time limit on use, so make sure you don’t let them use them for too long.

@boymom123, so I wouldn’t go above a 7lb. As for age - I think I’d use your discretion and just be sure he’s supervised, def not overnight

@boymom123, my 2 yr old steals it all the time- I just make sure I’m watching what he’s doing. I haven’t decided if I am comfortable with him having his own. I am doing a bit more research.

I was curious about buying one for me and the SO but everything’s cheaper on amazon. Does 60$ work? Depends on the weight you want and size of blanket. This is a kids 5lb and that’s heavy enough. I work out with 5lb weights. Lol

@boymom123, there’s a lot of conflicting info on them, that’s why I’m not 100% sure how I feel about it. I’ve read how it can collapse lungs and internal organs when used too long
