Does anyone else watch the Baby Center name popularity chart like a hawk??
I don’t want my child to have to go to school with 15 other kids with the same name.
Luckily I have my girl name 100% chosen, and it’s all the way back in the 600’s.
For instance: Jackson has Ranked No. 1 for the sixth consecutive year.
When these kids are in school there will be a thousand Jackson's in each class.
Ughhhh.

What I did was pray because I felt the same way. I didn't want our daughter to have a common or popular name. I also wanted her first name to have some part of my husband's middle name which is LEE. So, one night when I was just setting on the couch God gave me her name. It just popped into my head and when I told me very picky husband, he loved it and thought I got it off the internet. We named her Leeandra. And God already gave me the name for our next child too.

yeah I totally understand. Didnt pick mine definitely until about 35w. I was so frustrated then telling friends my ideas theyre like WHAT 😂

If it was in the top 100 I immediately vetoed the name! I knew what girls name I wanted since I was a child, but boys bed stumped me so much! We didn't know until birth, so had to have both ready. We finally picked a boys name on the 14th, he was born the 18th!!

We’ve had a boy name picked out since a little before caleigha was born. It’s Greek and I’ve not heard a boy named it except for in a book I read in school.
Caleighas name I didn’t bother looking up on baby center.
However this one hubby and I have fallen into slight love with a name that’s relatively popular and it’s tearing me up inside lol
So I keep checking baby center every week to see if it’s gotten more popular.

Hahah! I did the same thing with Faye: I’d check weekly to see how it was ranking. My own rule is if it’s in the top 200, it won’t work for us. And when I decided on Faye, she was like 312. But, by the time I had her in July it dropped down to 400’s. Haha!
I mean, there is no telling. Like the name Owen for instance: it’s like number 20 right now.. yet, it was in the 200’s only two years ago. You just never know.

exactly! Last week the name jumped up a ton. I just looked and it’s ranked at 150.
We have 2 other names picked out that are extremely unpopular, but this name is really sticking in my mind

When I had found out I was having a girl 👧 I always wanted to name her something different also because people have the same names over and over again. That’s why I named my daughter Delylah. A lot of people never heard of that name but now it’s starting to get all over, and I’m like ugh 🤷♀️....

My daughter was recently in a wedding and the other flower girl was named Dalila! But, they called her Dolly (which I thought was absolutely precious ). She was the first Dalila / Dalilah / Delylah I had personally met though!
But, that’s what I was saying above. What’s not popular today could totally be the next hot name in a few months. So aggravating.
