For the most part. I don’t agree with lotus birth (letting the cord detach on its own). Most wild animals chew the umbilical cord from their babies for one. But I also think it’s just really gross to carry around your placenta, because it’s still attached to your baby. 😖
However the delayed cord clamping has been proven to be beneficial and is becoming a common practice to delay the clamping by at least 60 seconds.
I didnt even know they did this until I had my daughter about a month ago. They told me that they were going to wait 30 minutes to cut the cord and they handed me my daughter right away to have an hour of skin to skin contact and afterwards they took her and weighed her and did measurements. They didnt do that with my other 2 babies!

It’s called delayed clamping, 1/3 of the babies blood supply is still in the umbilical cord / placenta. I’m doing it with our next baby
