Help mammas!! First time mom here and my baby is sick for the first time 😭 he has a rectal fever of 100.4, very red watery eyes, and a cough. I gave him some Tylenol to bring down his fever, should I give him anything else tonight? I am taking him to the doctor first thing tomorrow morning.

I probably wouldn’t have even given Tylenol. It’s not usually even considered a fever until 100.4. I’d probably just do a luke warm bath.
Is it a real wet cough?

Yeah it sounds wet, I can hear a lot of mucus when he coughs.

The risk of him catching some type of bug is not worth an ER trip for these symptoms. It does not sound like an emergency in any way.

With rectal you are supposed to subtract a degree.

I agree^^ a luke warm bath to get it down and then keep luke warm rags on his head and feet to keep it down! If he doesnt get any better at all then take him in to the ER just because he is so little!

Yeah I’m going to give him a bath soon, I’m not sure if I should take him to the er though. If he gets worse I definitely will.

@flamingomom, yeah I don’t want to take him to the er unless he gets worse all of a sudden, someone had bronchitis at thanksgiving so I have a feeling that’s what he has.
