I need help/advice if anyone can offer it. Hubby feels like he can't connect with Thea very well. All she does at this age is really sleep and eat. We got her off formula and my pump hasn't come in yet. So he can't exactly feed her. I can only hand express a couple ounces at once with it starting to get tiring. I feel awful. He wants to, I know he does. It almost seems like he thinks she doesn't know him. He spent so much time loving on her and talking to her before she was born. I know she knows him... It just... 😖😖😖😔😔😢

How about if you let him do the burping? Maybe skin to skin

He does skin to skin and she will fall asleep with him. He has been changing her diaper more the last couple days; I think he just may not be seeing it. Or not feeling the it as much from her because of the comparison of how much I have her.

He can burp her , do skin to skin , change her diapers , rock her to sleep

Skin to skin change her and when she wakes up and is hungry have him pick her up and bring her to you.

Thats just how it is when theyre little. Let him know it will get better and soon they'll be inseperable.
If he can't feed he can do literally everything else.
But some other fun ways to feel connected are kissing baby all over. Read and sing to her, even though it might seem weird at that age. Bath times. Walks. Or just cuddling up.
As a mom I didnt even feel connected to my son right away.

He said he wants her to just be a little older and then stop. Just to the point of being able to communicate enough to point and grab and move and atleast babble some simple words. I think he knows, though, it's just hard for him right now. He takes her when he is going to sleep and she sleeps great with him until she wakes up hungry. We have a carrier and stroller for walks, it's just gotten too cold for wanting to do that too much. He gives her lots of kisses when I have her.

My husband has a hard time connecting with babies. He doesn’t really know how to bond with them. But as they get older he learns how to bond with them. I think it’s normal. It’s especially hard for him because our daughter basically just wants me all the time. It won’t always be like this though.

He wanted to be able to fix everything for her. He wanted to be able to be her number one from the beginning. He knew she would need be but he wanted her to need him too. He just wants to be able to do everything for her and be able to be her superhero and fix everything. Which, when she gets older I have no doubt will happen. As soon as we found out we were pregnant it was that way. I hope it will help some when he can take on more of what she needs all the time (he's not a fan of diapers 😂).

Once she’s a bit older and starts becoming her own person it’ll be a whole different ball game. Unfortunately newborns rely on mom a whole lot, especially if they are breastfed. In a couple of months things will be completely different. In the meantime, he can best help her by helping you.

Remind him of the 4th trimester. And to still talk to her like shes in the womb. He can always do changes, dress her, bathe her, read her stories etc. It will get better as the months progress
