Sorry for the long post I’m a FTM & at a loss on this. I’ve been breastfeeding now for 16days. My little one is now holding on with her latch and getting fussy pulling at my nipple. Could this mean she is done feeding? I’ve let her pull off & burp her as if she is done & she starts getting so upset and wants to feed more. I’m so confused 😐 & the last 4 nights around 2/3am feeding I’ll feed her and after she is so upset and fussy when she is done for a good hour,, could it be colic or is her belly upset?

Have you made sure you have a good supply? Maybe your supply dropped? It could be something you are eating that could be upsetting her belly. You can give her mylicon drops at every feeding to help with her belly.

Yeah my supply is great and she is definitely swallowing and gulping it down. I’ll definitely see maybe about what I’m eating. I honestly didn’t think it would affect her in that way. I mean I don’t eat unhealthy but maybe certain foods make her gassy. 🤦🏽♀️

She's probably fussing because she wants to burp. Try burping her then putting her back on the boob. It'll take some time to figure things out but just be patient. You've got this 💙

Does she get all rigid and hard to handle? Might help to either: swaddle while feeding or skin to skin while feeding. Pretty normal for them to do stuff like this early on, still developing and getting used to feeding etc. Just keep at it, sounds like youre doing a good job.

Is it painful when she latches and pulls? Or does it feel like she isn’t getting enough draw? Usually they need to be chin to lower aureola and nose to top. Because it could be that she’s not getting a complete latch and therefore not getting much supply or draw while feeding or not pressed up against your breast enough to get the full clasp around your nipple (with most aureola inside their mouth). They can feed while not getting enough with each gulp.
It can sound like she’s swallowing when it’s mostly her dry throat with little milk supply. It’s important to get more in their mouth for adequate pull.
I’m sorry momma. ♥️ call a lactation expert in your area. Use that resource. I hope you figure it out though. It sounds like she wants to feed.
