Hated it first when they put it in I would t stop bleeding so they put this sandy stuff all in me and it felt like I stuck sand up the hoo ha for a week straight then I wouldnt stop bleeding then I got really bad stomach pains and it moved and I had to get it surgically removed because they couldn't even find the damn thing to get it out normally. 😖

I just got mine last week. I’ve been bleeding since I got it and having cramps. I was told that it’s normal in the beginning.

@mamabearof3____ I've been bleeding for 27 days since I got Mirena. I got it 8 weeks PP and got my first period a few days later...and it's still going 😣. It was normal at first and then it's just been really light and mostly old blood. A couple of liners a day is all I've needed. They say it's normal to have this for up to 90 days but by 4 months in most women have drastically lighter periods. It hasn't bothered me much bc of the gains- no/fewer periods, less cramps, no hormones affecting my mental state (Mirena doesn't have estrogen and the progesterone is localized), and I don't have to worry about getting pregnant until I want to!

@kjcross, so it’s possible to have a period/spotting for up to 3 months. 😬

@mamabearof3____ yup, that's what the internet says anyway 💁. I think the average is only a few weeks though. So far I still think it's worth it

My sister had mirena and she just got it removed. (She wants more babies) She said her discharge was so bad she had to wear a pad or tampon at all times but that was the worst thing that happened on it.

Mirena iud sucked for me heavy periods tons of cramping (I took it to ease the cramps it made it worse) and it started to shift after 4 months so I got it removed and now looking into nuvaring I feel it's safer
