I was think about getting it for the crib to make her feel secure but then I don’t want her to get used to it and then not be able to sleep with out it
So here’s my issue I was gonna just put the baby in the crib once she was born, I have the crib it’s all set up but we talked to his cousin and she like you don’t put the baby in the crib, you put them in a bassinet which we don’t have so now I’m trying make the crib available for the baby to sleep in instead of the bassinet and make her comfortable in
You can do either. Crib or bassinet is fine. Even using that little nest. You have to check on baby and make sure they are ok periodically no matter what. That "nest" is similar to what the hospital would do if your baby we're hospitalized to keep him/her safe. No matter what we do as moms we will always have someone who disagrees. I'd show this to my personal ped and have an earnest conversation if you are so concerned and need feedback. Even peds will disagree. We have to make decisions daily as moms that are tough. But make your best decision and do your research so that you can make your best educated choice. Obviously there are some things that we should never do bc of safety concerns but not everything is so clear. Best of wishes.
We used a bassinet the first 2 weeks and moved him to his bed. But I think he would have been fine starting out in it. I really just did it for my sake to me closer to him. He’s been in his crib every night since we put him in there
I have this for my baby girl and I used this for my son too and then after he no longer fit then I took it off and just put him in the crib and I’ll be doing the same with my daughter.
@meka2013 I agree with what PP said. Swaddle and crib or a co-sleeper. I think we really overthink things as new mom's and only know what our babies need once they are here. Even with perfect planning and research and the right choices made and you may find out none if it works once baby is here. Best of wishes in your decision making and a happy, healthy baby and mommy on delivery day. Each of my girls were so different that nothing worked for baby 2 that worked for baby 1 and all the stuff that didn't work for baby1 totally works for baby 2. Oh the life of a mom.
I wouldn’t recommend this at all.. you’ll never know if they will turn in their sleep because it can happen even with newborns. I definitely recommend a co-sleeper I still have but don’t use the swaddleMe. It is super portable and safe if they turn the mesh around the side will always let them breathe.
I took our son out of it once he started to roll around because I didn’t want it to hinder his development. But we’ve never had any issues with him sleeping anywhere and transitioned him into a cot really easily because even when he was next to us he wasn’t directly with us if that makes sense. I’ve got it again for our daughter
We put my oldest in a crib at birth and it worked great. There’s really no “getting used too” if that’s all they know. Now my youngest sleep in a bassinet by our bed and soon will be transitioning in a crib, so I’ve been trying to get him used to it.

I feel like they are pretty unnecessary in a crib and will create more trouble than not.

A baby in a crib right away is fine I got a bassinet for both my babies and they both hated it so in there crib they went.
This is a no go for me personally, I would just use the crib and swaddle baby it it’s for a secure safe feeling you want for them
