So I'm in a dilemma I really want a vbac but I don't want to be induced again so I have the option there for a c-section if I want it.
But do I book in for a c-section just in case and as close to my due date as possible to give me that chance?
My induction was horrible and so badly handled that I really don't want to experience it again and I really don't want to leave it to late and them not let me have a csection and put me through and induction process again.
Any ladies been in this position and had an elective in place just in case, Or even decided last minute to get one?

I’m waiting for answers on this😂 I was induced and then had a horrible labour while lead to an emergency c section too! I know I’ve only just had my little one but I’m just worried about next time, I do want to try giving birth naturally but if it does come to the point where they want to induce me I’d rather have a Caesarian, there’s no way I could be induced again after last time I reacted really badly to the gel after 10 minutes of it being in and I was having full blown labour pains for around 10 hours not able to drink or eat a thing xxx

Oh jeez yeah that doesn't sound good. Mine was terrible but I guess didn't put me off having another 😂 I just want a bit more control over things this time well no induction or emergancy where possible. I'll have to quiz my consultant when I see them next xx

Don’t quote me on this but I heard that if you go over due and had a csection the first time that they can’t induce you they just go straight to csection. I don’t know if it’s true but worth an ask xx

Not all consultants will give you an induction after a c-section, they are reluctant to give you too many options. A lot of the consultants I have seen this time have said no to any pain relief over gas and air and no to induction, no to a water birth as can all have an impact on how you feel and you might not feel a rupture which is obviously not what they want

@abbiiqx, I just know because I asked about VBAC and water birth not all consultants agree though. All good questions to ask

Yeah mine just gave me all these growth scan dates as was very precise when baby should be head down by and all this, it was just alot to take in as I thought it would just be normal and straight forward lol xx

I have really bad scarring and have been told I’m not allowed a VBAC but I asked four consultants before agreeing to an elective section 😂

I dont think you can have one because of your scar rupturing, im in the same position would love a vbac but dont want the same to happen what happened last time x

The risk of scar rupture after having had 1 section is 0.5%. So it's 99.5% not going to happen. It is better not to be induced as it's best to let your body labour spontaneously, but you can still go overdue as normal when trying for a VBAC. You can also tell your consultant you don't want to be induced.
I'd definatley recommend reading the NICE guidelines on VBAC procedures that consultants are meant to follow, as they're meant to support VBAC but it varies around the country and on consultant as to how much support you get. I'd also recommend joining the 'VBAC Support Group UK' on Facebook as there's a lot of knowledge and support there.
I'm trying for a VBA2C on this baby so fingers are crossed. Good luck lovely - just read as much info as you can beforehand, and then go into see your consultant with your questions/preferences. X

Yeah I was told it was pretty unlikely and not to worry that's why I didn't even think I couldn't be Induced as might lead to more risks.
I went 12 days over with my first so I'm hoping I don't so I can atleast try for a vbac as I'd rather not have another c section.
I've joined a group on there and they have been really helpful but hadn't seen or even thought about induction process. And I will thank you! And fingers crossed for you and your baby ❤

oh no 12 days over - I bet you were so fed up bless you. Each labour is different and you can search stories in that group and it's so encouraging to see how many women are successful. I think no matter if you chose VBAC or an elective section, you'll get a beautiful baby at the end xxx
