:: Today is your last day of being a 1 year old and I’m struggling with it so much more then expected. 💔 I don’t know why your 2nd birthday is so hard. Maybe it’s because of how fast it’s all going. Or how much bigger you seem to be every single day. Or maybe it’s because I’m carrying your brother, only further signifying that you’re no longer a baby. THE baby. I look back at this picture and it really wasn’t that long ago that we brought you into the world. I still remember that moment they laid you on my chest like it was yesterday. I remember your dad beaming with pride and watching him fall in love with you. I remember everyone else in the room disappearing but you. You in your pink, gooey, screaming mess just ready to be loved, fed and comforted. And now? Now you’re sitting on the living room floor, building a tower with your legos, and blissfully unaware of how fast the world around you is moving. Blissfully unaware of the major changes coming. While in this moment, and for the next few months, you’re still the baby, I hope you always know you’re still MY baby. That when you become a big brother. When you head off to school. When you turn 16 and hit the road on your own. When you’re 18 and leaving for college. When you marry the love of your life, no matter what, you’re still my baby. 💙
