Ladies, was wondering if you would share your opinion on this with me, & what you would do. My 8 year old son is a quiet little boy, keeps himself to himself and has never had a bad word said about him at school, only ever praises! He would have packed lunch at school, consisting of a sandwich or wrap, chosen fruit of his choice, his water & a biscuit (penguin/club etc) & on his birthday 17th sept we gave him a small Lindt bunny as a treat in his packed lunch (the tiny ones!) and a teacher who works as a lunch lady and a helper in his class told him he’s not aloud it in lunch, so he didn’t eat it. Days following he was coming home not eating his little biscuit because she kept telling him off. With school dinners the kids are always given a pudding cake & custard / cupcakes, apple crumbles etc so my point there is what’s the difference with him having a biscuit in his lunch? 🤷♀️ he also wears a hat & scarf to school but recently stopped wanting to wear it and this morning I told him that he needs to as it’s going to be very cold and the Christmas elf’s will want him to be warm and he told me the same teacher tells him to take it off when he puts it on for break time because ‘he won’t need it’ but all the other kids in his class wear theirs and she only tells him!!! I put in my concerns to the family room this morning because I feel like she’s picking on him and I know I won’t be able to hold my tongue if I speak directly to her. Some may think it’s not a big deal but it all makes sense why he’s not wanted to wear it and I even put him back on to school dinners because he didn’t want to sit in the packed lunch area any more, baring in mind he was on packed lunch because he really wanted to sit with his friends who also have a packed lunch.

Omg poor boy! And what a complete bitch I would go straight to the headteacher and express your concerns. I wouldn’t be able to hold m tongue either but deffo talk to the headteacher it’s not fair if she’s targeting your boy. Xx

I totally understand why your not happy I'd be fumming too! I'd go straight to the head or at least his teacher and ask them straight out right what's going on and why is she saying this! Nasty cow Xx @mummymir

I’m not sure about the hat / scarf but I know the pack lunch are very strict due to allergies x

@chelsea2018, @emily.m, @courtniek98x, @chesscalouise2, @erincharlieconor, I was annoyed about the packed lunch at the time because it was only a small biscuit and on his birthday the tiny Lindt bear, I understand there are allergies but a biscuit is part of a standard packed lunch i know they’re not aloud nuts and of course sweets id never put that in a lunch anyway, but he wanted to go on school dinners after really wanting the packed lunches because all his friends where on them so I knew something was up there, but the hat & scarf was the last straw especially in this cold weather we are getting now, I think what’s most upsetting to me is that my son is such a quiet little boy and he suffers from dry cracked skin in the cold weather (he bleeds because his skin is so sensitive to it) and she has been telling him to put it all back on his peg, I will take it up with the head as after hearing your opinions ladies it’s what I should have done in the first place xx

Oh bless him how awful that he’s been made to feel like he can’t even eat his packed lunches because of her, but the hat and glove situation is disgraceful it’s freezing now! How would she feel if someone told her child they couldn’t wear hats and gloves! Deffo speak with the head teacher as you send your child to school to enjoy themselves and know that they are safe ect.. hope you get it sorted Asap hun xx

@mummymir, even if it wasn’t that cold and he wanted to wear hat and scarf, surely he should be allowed anyway! Maybe because he’s quiet she feels she can say it to him and not think he’ll tell. Horrible woman! Xx

The contents in a packed lunch has to be pretty strict especially biscuits with chocolate on if they are labelled “may contain nuts” they can’t have it because it’s hard to monitor who’s got what In who’s box ect kids swap n that little treat could be lethal. I understand your upset and have every right to be concerning your son so it’s best to have a chat with them to see what’s going on. Xx

@courtniek98x, @emily.m, @erincharlieconor, thanks girls will let you know what they say/outcome. @erincharlieconor, I know Hun, I’ve always been careful with what is put in a packed lunch, the only biscuits he has is the penguin or club orange which are safe with his school’s allergy guidelines and are nut free. She singled him out to the point he is on school dinners now as she went out of her way to see if he had a biscuit in his lunch 🤷♀️🤦♀️ x

They are really strict about packed lunches but I agree with you. Hot meals have a sweet pudding almost everyday at my son's school. I'd definitely speak with the teachers about the hat situation. It makes no sense making him take his off but others are wearing there's. Are you sure he's not saying that but actually choosing to not wear it so saying a teacher said he couldn't instead. Just a thought. Morgan has told little fibs like that before. But he's a bit younger. I'm sure after a chat with the teachers though they'll be aware that he must wear it.

I can see some of the comment then ‘...’ which implies the comment is continued but I can’t see the rest when I click my post to reply!! Just a quick update ladies, spoke to deputy head who said he will speak with said ‘teacher’ and get back to me. Let’s hope he does get back to me as I am very interested in what she will have had to say. @sara-lou86, he is very particular with his hat & scarf he wouldnt go anywhere with out it, this is why I have been so angry to hear he has felt he can’t wear it, first she started on his lunch and now this xx @raerae2018, it’s not nice for any child but I know it’s because he is such a quiet little boy and that’s what has made me angry most.xx
