So I was told at my last appointment (last Monday) that along with my pap smear, and 1st trimester blood work that I'd have to get an ultrasound to. Almost like an anatomy scan or something around 14 weeks and then again at 20. They said the place that does that ultrasound would call me to figure out a date and time for that appointment. We already had plans for me to see my mom and family until December 9th. One because my mom just had surgery and I wanted to be able to help her and two we were going to have our sons birthday and our gender reveal down here on the 8th of December with our elective ultrasound on the 3rd. So that place ends up calling me but I didn't have my phone with me and by the time I heard the voicemail the place was closed. Basically they told me they scheduled me for this Monday at 10:45 without getting a hold of me to see if it worked for me. I just don't know what to do now. I'm 4 hours away from where I live and that doctors office. I can maybe manage getting up there tomorrow night but my mom would be without someone until Saturday when a friend of mine who is visiting family up where I live can bring me back down to my moms. I don't know if they will let me reschedule for when I get back since its after 14 weeks. (I will be 16 weeks by the 10th) should I call them Monday and ask if they can wait that long or go home with my husband Sunday?

It just probably a growth scan if you are not high risk it should be ok to reschedule it

That's what I'm figuring I had a miscarriage in July. We didn't see a heartbeat and then I miscarried at 9 weeks. This time we got a heartbeat at 8 weeks and then heard the heartbeat via Doppler at 12 weeks. So I don't know if they would still consider me high risk?

I'm sure you can still reschedule it just call them explain your situation but if you feel like its need then u should go

Like I feel pops and flutters from the baby so I don't think its like super needed. But I guess I will call Monday and see if they can if not maybe Tuesday instead.

Is this the ultrasound that is done in conjunction with the bloodwork to check for chromosomal defects, (I never got any of the testing done with any of my children) but I think they need to be done at a certain week for the results to be accurate.

Yeah I think they wanted it by 14 weeks with the blood work. I never had it done with my son only the 20 week ultrasound.

that could be why they scheduled it with out seeing if it was a good time for you because it needs to be done in a specific time frame. I would definitely call and see what they say

maybe I should go home tomorrow then? My mom says she would be ok but it still makes me feel bad leaving her. Even though I'd be back Saturday.

If your getting the genetic test done which also can tell you the gender it's done before the 2nd trimester I believe so if you wait till your 14weeks (whenever that is) I don't think you can get it done anymore
