I'm losing my mind trying to find myself and happiness after being a mother. For myself. Has anyone ever felt this way. ? What did you do to get out of the funk
For the 1st year of my daughters life I was in a funk. Thankfully not depression; I couldn’t imagine. But, I was definitely not “myself”. I re-joined hot yoga and that helped me SO much. Just taking 2 hours out of the day to focus on myself really helped me. It’s going to be hard to find time when I have two children, but that’s my goal as well when this second one arrives.
Finding time for yourself for a hobby really can do so much for you mentally. You just have to remember that you’re just as important, and it’s okay to focus on you.
@candice1234, I don’t know what kind of person you are, but I know with ME: if I don’t make a calendar and physically write down my plans, then it won’t happen.
I would take the time and plan just something for yourself for the following month. Even if it’s just a stroll through Target alone with a Starbucks. Write it down. That way you’ll remember, and physically see your plans.
