Has anyone had their baby do a hearing test in the hospital and pass one ear but not the other? My baby passed her right ear but not her left. They said it may be due to her still having fluid in the ear and they’ll recheck in the morning. She was very fussy during her test and only calmed down towards the end when they finally let me hold her. I’ve never had this happen with any of my other kids.

Yes, they came back the next day and retested and she passed with no issue at all!

Thank you ladies. I was a little worried and cried a little. I know some of it is my hormones still. I’m feeling a lot better.

@angieewilliams It's sad when they tell you something like that!! I cried when they told me my daughter had epilepsy at 5 days old.

It didn’t happen to us, but the nurse did tell us ahead of time that a lot of babies fail bc of the fluid in the ears so not to worry if that happened.

It happened with my son. He passed one ear and failed the other. They came back the next day to test again and he failed both ears. So we waited 2 weeks and went back to the hospital and he passed both ears.
