What are your opinions on flu shots?🤦🏾♀️ I haven’t had one in a few years.. but having my son scares me .. I don’t want him getting the flu
I would get the flu shot. A boy in my area literally died from the flu. My fiancé has also had it after he stopped getting the shot
It's the only shot my kids don't get. My daughter got it every year untill she turned two. She felt like crap for days after her last one and got the flu anyway and it turned into bronchiolitis and almost pneumonia. Treating it was awful So we don't get the flu shot anymore. We just make sure we always take our vitamins and use hand sanitizer after touching things others have touched. We stay at home as much as possible.
I gave it to my kids but I didn’t get it too many people died from flu anyways last year I’m def pro vaccines so don’t get me wrong it’s one of those ones I’m iffy with
I get one because I have a chronic illness and I got my daughter one at 6m because I feel it’s better to lessen the effects if
She were to get the flu and she didn’t get sick or have any reactions when she got it
I am pro flu shot. My sis-in-law is a pediatrician and she has explained to me that ESPECIALLY for kids and elders it's it's crucial for them to get the flu shot - because if they were to get the flu it helps ease the flu- compared to what it would be like if they get the flu without getting the shot prior... What we go based off of is other countries and places documentary on the type of flu virus they're dealing with- and our doctors go in and grab the flu vaccination that they believe will help the flu the most that season... So either way it's always best to be safe rather than to be sorry.
I never get them and have rarely ever had the flu but I'm debating on getting it for my 2yr old so the baby doesn't get sick... Only problem is, whenever I have taken it I've gotten sick anyway and I don't get sick when I don't take it... I worry the same will happen with my 2yr old and idk if I want to put him through that discomfort for a couple days.
I myself haven't gotten the flu shot but once in my life and that's when I came over from Russia as a toddler. I have gotten the flu maybe twice, once the regular aches and pains when I was about 10, once was swine flu when I was 14 for 3 days - however my health was optimal (good, clean, nutritious diet and very active and fit) and I think the only reason I even got the swine flu was because I was doing 3-4 extracurricular activities and going to public school which ate up all of my time all of the time and my body was pretty run down.
Basically, I don't think the flu shot is necessary but might be a good precaution in the first year or two while baby is still working on his immune system. The only thing is, there are other, surer ways to keep baby strong and healthy with a good clean diet and active, healthy lifestyle because the flu virus mutates so quickly that you could be vaccinated for 100 different strains and it not really be helpful
